Warm sesame: this is the reference oil for Abhyanga in Ayurveda, especially for soothing Vata. Beef tallow: a rising trend on social media, presented as an "ancestral" treatment. It can also clog pores in oily or acne-prone skin.

Moisturizing milk or oil?

It's not really a binary choice: both play a different role. A milk or cream contains water and agents that retain it (humectants), which is what hydrates in the strict sense. An oil, on the other hand, does not provide water: it seals in existing hydration and strengthens the lipid barrier. On clean, slightly damp skin, the most effective order remains water or hydrosol first, then oil last to capture that moisture.
